Prismm sunset · updated August 28, 2026

Prismm goes view-only October 1. Don't rebuild inside an annual contract.

Cvent is sunsetting Prismm and moving accounts into Cvent Event Diagramming — and your templates, favorites, and pre-2022 events don't make the trip. Before you rebuild everything in a 12-month commitment, export your work and see the independent option on one real event.

Happening now

Jul 8 – Sep 30, 2026

New-event creation ends in Prismm, account by account. Events on or after October 1 must be created in Cvent Event Diagramming.

View-only

Oct 1, 2026

Prismm becomes view-and-export-only. You can look at your work, but you can't plan in it.

Shutdown

Dec 31, 2026

Full shutdown. Anything not exported by then is gone.

Dates from Cvent's official Prismm transition materials, August 2026.

Read the fine print

What the Cvent migration leaves behind

Your Prismm templates are not automatically carried over as reusable Cvent layouts

Favorites and object groups do not migrate

Events created before January 1, 2022 are not available in the new environment

Cvent Event Diagramming's paid public plans require a 12-month commitment

None of this is hidden — it's in Cvent's own migration FAQ. The point is simply that you are already paying the switching cost. The only question is what you rebuild into: an enterprise suite with an annual commitment, or an independent tool with monthly billing and open exports.

FAQ

Prismm migration — common questions

What exactly is happening to Prismm?
Cvent acquired Prismm (formerly AllSeated) in April 2025 and is consolidating it into Cvent Event Diagramming. Per Cvent's own transition materials: new-event creation in Prismm is ending account-by-account between July 8 and September 30, 2026; Prismm goes view-and-export-only on October 1, 2026; and it shuts down fully on December 31, 2026.
Do I have to move to Cvent Event Diagramming?
No. Cvent's path moves your account into their diagramming product, but your floor plans and layouts are yours — you can export them and rebuild anywhere. That's the decision window you're in right now, and it's worth making deliberately rather than by default.
What should I export before October 1?
Everything, even if you plan to stay with Cvent: floor plans and room dimensions for every space; your saved templates and standard setups (as PDFs at minimum); guest lists and seating charts you may need again; and any pre-2022 event you might ever reference, since those don't come across at all.
How does moving to EventDiagram work?
Send us your Prismm exports — PDFs are fine. We convert your standard room setups into editable, to-scale layouts (concierge conversion included with venue onboarding), you run a real event in parallel during a 60-day trial window, and you stay on monthly billing with a written export guarantee. If you have an overlapping contract, ask about transition credit of up to three months.
Is EventDiagram just Prismm again?
No — and honestly, Prismm's photorealistic 3D was its signature, and Cvent inherits that strength. EventDiagram's center of gravity is the operational plan: to-scale 2D that ops can execute, one-click 3D walkthroughs from the same data, airwall-aware ballrooms, and collaboration where nobody needs a paid seat.
