Labels, text & the ruler

0:03Three small things that make a plan usable by the people setting the room: numbers, notes, and measurements.

0:10Table numbers first. Select a table and give it a label — that's what prints, and that's what your captains and your guests are looking for.

0:19Auto-Fill can number a whole block for you in one go, so you're rarely typing these by hand.

0:25Next, the Text tool. Click anywhere on the plan and type — buffet line, coat check, band load-in at four. Anything the room needs to know that isn't an object.

0:35You can set the size from the right panel, and drag it wherever it reads best.

0:40And the Ruler. Drag from anywhere to anywhere and it draws a permanent measurement, reading in feet and inches.

0:46It stays on the diagram, its ends stay draggable, and it saves with everything else — so the aisle you promised the fire marshal is written on the plan, not in somebody's memory.
