Events vs. Diagrams

0:03Here's the most useful thing to understand about EventDiagram. An event is a folder. A diagram is one page inside that folder.

0:13An event is one real booking. The Whitmore Wedding is one event — one couple, one date, one contract.

0:21Open it, and you'll see it holds two diagrams. Same booking — but two different spaces, at two different moments of the night.

0:38The ceremony out on the terrace. The reception in the ballroom. Both belong to the same job, so they live together.

0:45That matters because a real booking is almost never one drawing. There's a ceremony set and a reception set. A general session and three breakouts. A morning layout and an evening flip.

0:57Filed under the event, they stay together — along with the dates, the guest lists, and the documents for that job.

1:04So the app enforces a rule: a diagram always belongs to an event. There is no such thing as a loose diagram floating on its own.

1:12You'll see that the moment you make one. Every new diagram asks which event it goes in.

1:22If it's a brand new booking, you create the event right here, inline. Existing event, or new event — but always an event.
