LESSON 11 OF 14 · 2:20
The 3D walkthrough
The same plan, standing in the room.
Transcript
0:03Everything you've placed carries a real height. Which means the plan you just drew is already a three-dimensional room — you don't build it twice.
0:11The 3D button is up in the toolbar. It opens the same diagram, standing in it.
0:16Give it a moment to build, and there's the room.
1:03The walls are the real walls, including the airwall sections. The tables are at table height, the chairs are facing them, and the stage is the height you set.
1:13Drag to orbit around it. This is the view that answers the question a floor plan never can — what will it feel like to walk in.
1:22Scroll to move in and out. Get down to eye level and you're standing where a guest will be standing.
1:28There's a Flythrough button too — a scripted camera tour of the room, on a path worked out from the geometry itself.
1:35And you can have that rendered as a video and emailed to you, to send on to a client who'll never open a floor plan but will absolutely watch thirty seconds of their own ballroom.
1:46No extra modelling, no second file. Same diagram. Next: getting it in front of people.
