An event is one real booking — one client, one date, one contract. A diagram is one layout inside that booking. The Whitmore wedding is an event; its ceremony plan and its reception plan are two diagrams filed under it.
Every diagram belongs to an event. There is no such thing as a loose diagram, which is why a booking’s plans can never drift apart from each other.
Why the app insists on it
A real booking is almost never one drawing. There is a ceremony set and a reception set. A general session and three breakouts. A morning layout and an evening flip. Tools that treat every drawing as a standalone file leave you naming things Smith-wedding-final-v3-USE-THIS.pdf and hoping.
Filed under an event, the plans stay together with the dates, the guest list and the documents for that job — so “show me everything for the Whitmore wedding” is one click rather than a search across your desktop.
Creating a diagram inside an event
- 1From Storage or inside any event, choose New diagram.
- 2Pick the venue and the event space it happens in — or a blank canvas if you are sketching.
- 3Name it for the setup (Reception — rounds of 10), not the room.
- 4Under Link to event, choose an existing booking, or create the event inline if it is new.
Two ways to find your work
Events lists work by booking, which is how a planner thinks. Storage flattens every diagram by what you touched last, which is how you find the thing you had open yesterday. Same data, two doors.
